About Us

At The Heavenly Hound Pet Cremation, our journey to open our doors to the community has been filled with a shared passion for animals and a deep understanding of the bond between pets and their parents. Owned and operated by Susan and Andy, we are dedicated pet parents who have created a compassionate space for those facing the loss of a beloved pet.

Our home is filled with our five hound dogs -- Hazel, Daizy, Jethro, Ernie, and Bee, as well as our three cats Ninja, Crash, and Lazarus. We understand and appreciate the love and joy that pets bring into our lives. Susan holds a degree in Animal Science from Missouri State University, and both of us have undergone extensive training to ensure that our cremation services are conducted ethically and respectfully.

Our state-of-the-art equipment allows us to provide safe and efficient cremation services, built on a foundation of trust. We have designed our facility to offer a quiet, peaceful, and private environment, ensuring that pet parents feel supported as they say goodbye to their beloved friends. Our mission is to provide comfort and closure during difficult times, honoring the journey that each pet and their family share.

Hazel

Let me tell you about Hazel—my first-ever dog. We've shared 10 years together, navigating through the good, the bad, and the downright messy parts of life. Her wise, grey muzzle tells stories of love. Losing her? That's going to be the worst day. Each of my hounds holds a special place in my heart, but Hazel? She's my soul mutt, and there's just something about her that makes her irreplaceable.

Bee

Bee, found as a stray outside my previous job, was in rough shape. It felt like fate, the perfect time and place for me to find her. They say dogs find those who need them most, and Bee, sweet as honey, seemed meant to bee in my life. In the 4 years since, we've faced challenges, but she's come a long way. Proud of the dog she's become, even if she keeps me on my toes—I wouldn't have it any other way.

Ernie

Ernie, originally intended as a foster, turned into a permanent part of my life! #fosterfail. After being hit by a car and needing urgent care, I volunteered to foster him during his recovery. However, as time passed, our bond grew stronger, and now we've enjoyed the last 3 years together! Describing Ernie as a "bull in a China shop" fits him perfectly—he's a big, goofy hound who simply loves life!

Daizy

After losing my German Shepherd Blaze, I adopted Daizy, a nervous hound who had spent over a year in the shelter. I asked about a trial adoption to the shelter staff, and well, she's been my companion ever since. We've faced nearly 8 years together, and it hasn't always been a walk in the park. Daizy, though, is no ordinary pup. Sure, she's got her own set of "issues," but who doesn't? Through it all, she's taught me the value of persistence, reminding me never to throw in the towel, even when life throws its challenges our way.

Jethro is the true definition of a man's best friend. His loyalty shines through every moment we share, always by our side. Despite the love and loss he has experienced, he remains strong, just like his devoted dog dad. Jethro not only protects our home but also brightens our days, turning even the toughest moments into something special. Though his muzzle has turned grey and he moves a bit slower, he continues to be the heart and joy of our lives.
